  PROS: This netbook is exactly the same as the MSI Wind U100. I was able to install the Wind’s 1.09 BIOS on the Magni Elite and overclock it 24% without any problems. Oh yeah, the netbook also arrived a few days earlier than expected, which was nice. I was able to install Windows 7 very easily since there was already a separate partition created on the netbook for data.

  CONS: The touchpad is made by Sentelic, so it sucks a little bit. I’d prefer a synaptics pad. It came with Synaptics drivers, even though the pad is Sentelic. It does have some useful features like disabling the touchpad while typing.

  I bought one of these netbooks when they were 285. They went as low as 280. and are now around 300. which is still a good buy. For the money I think it is the best netbook available. My main concern was a keyboard that was big enough to type on. This one is plenty big.

  The RAM is very easy to upgrade. It takes about 10 minutes. I bought my RAM from Amazon when I bought the netbook. It is Crucial 1 GB DDR2-667 Sodimm. Go to http://www.laptopmag.com/review/laptops/msi-wind.aspx?page=5 and click on the link “How to add RAM”.

  Does what I needed it to do and then some. Bluetooth and built in wireless are very convenient. 1gb ram is sufficient for my apps so far. I would recommend this machine.

  Currently the Asus eee pc 1000HE is getting all the top reviews on the market. But the Asus is priced at $100 above this Sylvania. I paid $285 on Amazon with no tax and free shipping. And so I wasn’t willing to pay that kind of a premium for my tertiary computer (already have a desktop and a bigger laptop). If you are in need of a travel friendly netbook just to lug around town or on vacation, this is it!

  I was impressed with the bright screen. The 10 inch screen was easy on the eye and you can adjust the brightness easily. It is big enough for internet pages so you don’t have to scroll sideways to view the page like on the 8.9 inch screens.

  The keyboard was also nice. It’s small but not difficult to use. I tried a 8.9 inch netbook at a store and just couldn’t type on it without constantly hitting unwanted keys. I’m 6.0′ and maybe a smaller hands can do it.

  The touch pad could use improvements. I’m sure there are drivers I could download somewhere to control sensitivity and such. So for now, I just plug in a optical mouse, and no problem.

  I had some issues connecting to my home wireless network at first. You have to turn the wireless card on manually with a button using the control key, and set Windows to control your wireless connection. But after that, there were no problems.

  The speed of the computer is adequate. I’m not sure if the if you can expand the RAM, but info is hard to find. The main reason is Sylvania’s website ([...]) is curently down and has been for a long time, which honestly concerned me a bit. But I’m sure you can call them to find out. It would be nice to upgrade the RAM to improve the speed.

  The storage is more than adequate at 160GB. The battery is 6 cell (but haven’t tested it yet).

  So if you are in need of a compact 10 inch netbook that’s user friendly for under $300, this is your best bet.

  I really like using this netbook. It is perfect especially for travel. Something I noticed is unlike my full sized Dell laptop, the screen is bright and easy on the eyes even when you are using battery. Of course you can dim it manually but it doesn’t dim automatically when switching from plug to battery. Impressive price and pleasant to use. Good for reading on the couch or in bed. I bought it in anticipation of my laptop dying soon and will not have problems using it all the time when the laptop finally gives out on me.

  This BARELY holds my 10.1 inch Acer. Every time I zip it closed I’m waiting for the tearing sound that I know will eventually come. And I can’t return it because I ordered it with my Acer and that got delayed for more than 30 days so I’m stuck with this.

  The pocket for the charger is what sold me but again, it barely fits in there. Forget holding anything else.

  save your money. It is like trying to fit 10 pounds in a 5 pound bag. it does not fit.

  My Acer Aspire One 10.1 fits snugly, my portable DVD Burner also fits nicely in the outer pouch. The Netbook fits securely inside and the fabric design is pretty cool. I’m glad I bought this Item.

  Ok after debating for a while whether I should actually get a sleeve for such a small netbook or just carry it around in my gigantic purse, I finally decided to buy a sleeve. Since I decided to buy one, I wanted something worth my money and would protect my netbook. What caught my attention about this one is the extra pocket (actually fits my charger and mouse) and the memory foam.

  I had it for a couple of weeks so far and I love it! It fits my acer nicely. Mine is not tight at all.

  Another plus for me is that it fits in my purse. So I can either carry it by the handle or carry it in my purse!

  Acer 10.1″ netbook slim fit pouch could be called too slim fit! once you install the lithium battery, the pouch can barely be zipped shut without fear of tearing the pouch. i believe the dimensions are too small for the 10.1 inch netbook. this may be the pouch for the 8.9″ netbook but they do not say so on their site. this is the first disappointment with a product i ordered online via amazon. i am reluctant to order a similar product online again.

  I purchased this for my 8.9″ netbook and I must say that I’m very pleased with this product. It fits my netbook to a tee including the battery and I don’t think it will fit anything larger than that. It’s so stylish and looks like a briefcase that no one would suspect that you have a computer in it. I love it because I can just throw my netbook in there and it acts as a cushioned sleeve in my bag when travelling. or just carry it around as is. Great product, great price!

  I don’t think you can get a better one without paying a lot of money to have it actually be leather. This is a pleather like substitute, and I like it quite well. Very firm sides, and a snug fit. What else do you need?

  I can’t say enough about this netbook. I bought my daughter the smaller version for Christmas, and found myself using it so much that I ended up buying this for myself. I am upgrading to 2G of RAM — not really necessary, but video lags just a bit full screen - I’m hoping this will resolve!

  I was hesitant to purchase a netbook, it being so small and all…..but let me tell you. This is a little jewel! I love being able to take the internet with me wherever I go…..or not. Got me a 2wire modem/router and now I can just sit at the table w/hubby, drink our coffee, and surf the web. Or, curl up in bed and check out my message boards. Hubby likes it, too!
